At first glance, this stripe looks like a Black and White stripe. In good light, it is a very dark navy called Midnight. The perfect stripe for your quilt binding.
The final step in the quilting and binding process just became straightforward! Sublime Stitchery Bias Binding takes all the hard work out of preparing binding. You can start sewing your binding on straight away!
Sublime Stitchery offers two widths of Bias Binding -
French Fold / Double Fold Quilt Binding: 2.5" cuts of bias-cut fabric are folded in half, wrong sides together along the long length of fabric. The 'finished' width of French Fold Quilt Binding is 1.25" (32mm) and the length of bias tape is 8 yards (7.3 metres). This type of bias binding is perfect for quilts and other projects where you desire two layers of fabric over your finished edge and can offer more structure and increased durability to a finished edge.
Single Fold Bias Binding: 2" lengths of bias-cut fabric are folded, wrong sides together, with long raw edges meeting at the centre. The length of bias tape is folded in half again, along its length, so that the raw edges are hidden in the centre of the bias tap with only folded edges visible. There are three folds in a Single Fold Bias Binding! The width of the 'finished' folded tape is 0.5" (12mm) and the length of the tape is 8 yards (7.3 metres). This type of bias tape has only one layer of fabric over the finished edge, offering less bulk and more fabric flexibility.
Lengths of fabric are joined at 45° and stripes are matched as best as possible.
